Advanced Diploma: Musical Theatre elective student, Andiswa Mbolekwa, supervised by Dr Leandi Steyn Delport, will present an African Jukebox musical, titled Mbombozone at this year’s Faculty of Arts & Design’s Arts Festival.
It was Andiswa’s dream to perform a musical in isiXhosa, but the availability of published and scored materials are always challenging. Thanks to up-and-coming artist, Zimbini Makwethu (who released her debut album in March 2021), and Elvis Sibeko Studios, this dream became a reality.
Mbombozone will be performed at the Rostrum Theatre on Monday, September 26 at 14:00, and Tuesday, September 27 at 12:00.
