Faculty of Arts and Design, third year, Performing Arts students, specialising in Theatre Arts and Design (lighting), attended . Focusing on the latest grandMA3 lighting software and console, this initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry-standard practices by equipping students with hands-on experience using one of the world’s most powerful lighting control systems.
The training covered key aspects such as software navigation, patching, cue creation, effects programming, and transitioning from grandMA2 to grandMA3 platforms. By engaging directly with professional-grade technology under the guidance of certified trainers, students will not only be introduced to cutting-edge tools but also encouraged to think creatively and practically about lighting design in live performance contexts. This engagement underscores the importance of industry partnerships in developing the next generation of skilled lighting professionals.
