BIOGRAPHY
Matsobane Ledwaba has BSc Degree from Rhodes University, MBA from TUT Business School and currently PhD Candidate (2024 – 2026) at Rhodes University on research thesis, developing a causal configurations likelihood model for gender-based violence and femicide for Gauteng, South Africa.
Mr Ledwaba is currently working at the Gauteng Province, Department of Community Safety within the GBVF Coordination responsible for implementation of the Gauteng Strategic Plan on GBVF aligned to the six pillars of the National Strategic Plan on GBVF.
Mr Ledwaba has written and published a few articles on GBVF both personally and on behalf of the Gauteng department of Community Safety, including a number of presentation to various stakeholders and media around the subject matter, GBVF.
Unless we fully comprehend and understand the elementary contributing factors and triggers of Gender Based violence and femicide, we are unlikely to reduce, prevent or eliminate.
In this symposium, we shall look at one aspect: Femicide of women and children
