BIOGRAPHY
Dr Shadrack Nthangeni is a well-rounded scholar, an accomplished student affairs expert, and a strategic executive leader with a deep commitment to student development and institutional excellence. He currently serves as the Executive Director for Student Affairs and Extracurricular Development at the Tshwane University of Technology and has recently been appointed as the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Operations.
Rooted in academia, Dr Nthangeni began his professional journey in the classroom and continues to stay actively engaged in the academic space through postgraduate supervision and editorial contributions. His scholarly involvement reflects a strong dedication to advancing the body of scientific knowledge, even while fulfilling demanding executive responsibilities.
A respected leader in the field of student affairs, Dr Nthangeni is widely known for his passion for the holistic development of young leaders. As a philanthropist and mentor, he has influenced and integrated a culture of dialogue and robust engagements to advance intellectualism amongst student leaders within the university environment.
In addition to his institutional leadership, he is a member of several national boards and SETA’s, contributing to public service and governance with integrity and vision. Within TUT, he plays a pivotal role as Chairperson of the Institutional Management Committee, leading various strategic efforts and projects aimed at enhancing institutional stability and performance.
Dr Nthangeni is guided by a personal philosophy deeply rooted in his favourite biblical quote: "Evil prevails because good men sit and do nothing." This principle fuels his unwavering commitment to moving TUT from good to great, and inspires his hands-on, values-driven approach to leadership.
